About the Artist

Welcome to Metal in the Mountains! 

I am the designer, metal-smith, and everything in between for Metal in the Mountains Jewelry. My jewelry making journey began at an early age like many children. Metal-smithing jewelry was introduced to me in high school, I was instantly hooked on the craft. (Shout out to the late, Jeanne Ilgen in Anchorage for pushing me and encouraging me in the classroom).

In 2015 Metal in the Mountains Jewelry was officially founded after years of creating as a hobby. Forever a student of the craft I feel so fortunate to have found myself here. Alaska has provided an abundance of natural beauty that will forever inspire my art. I am drawn to mixed metal and the contrast of using copper with silver, a common theme in the pieces I make. All of my jewelry is handcrafted in my home studio in Cordova, Alaska where I live with my fiancé, son and two dogs.
